Early (absentee) voting for the 2022 state general election is available Sept. 23 – Nov. 7 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday. When voting early (in person or by mail), you must first complete an absentee ballot application. After the application is complete and turned in, you will receive an absentee ballot to cast your vote.

Voting by mail

Eligible voters can request an absentee ballot by completing and returning the absentee ballot application. You can also call the elections line at 952.924.2503 to have an application mailed to you. Once you receive your ballot, read and follow the instructions carefully. Return your ballot to the address on the return envelope by:

• Mailing it through U.S. mail so it is delivered to Hennepin County Elections by 8 p.m. on Nov. 8.
• Delivering it in person to city hall during regular business hours before Election Day or no later than 3 p.m. on Election Day.
• Place it in the drop box at city hall. You can return your own ballot no later than 3 p.m. on Election Day to the designated ballot drop box located outside of the main entrance to city hall. This designated drop box is available 24 hours a day during the early voting period. The designated drop box is under 24 hour video surveillance. You may not use the drop box to return ballots for other voters at any time.
• Asking someone to deliver your ballot so it arrives before 3 p.m. on Election Day.

Absentee ballots may not be delivered to your polling place on Election Day.

Voting in person

In-person voting can be done at St. Louis Park City Hall, 5005 Minnetonka Blvd. Absentee ballot applications will be available in the early voting area for you to complete.

The city clerk's office will offer extended hours for absentee voting on the following days:

• Nov. 5, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
• Nov. 7, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Early voting at city hall is for St. Louis Park residents only.
