Inspired by: Black History Month

Post Date:February 01, 2023 9:48 a.m.

February is Black History Month, an annual celebration of achievements by Black and African Americans and a recognition of their central role in U.S. history. In recognition of the month, weekly posters from the city’s parks and recreation department will feature the experiences of a Black or African American employee of the City of St. Louis Park and St. Louis Park Public Schools Community Education, along with information about a person from the Black or African American community who inspires them.

Find the posters, along with a QR code to learn more, in park buildings throughout the city including at Wolfe, Oak Hill, Nelson, Birchwood and Browndale parks. Stop by and snap a photo with the poster to help your friends learn more too! Enjoy the discovery and opportunity to learn more about Black History Month while exploring the city’s parks.

If you are unsure of where all the city parks are, view our parks directory. Posters also will be featured each Tuesday in February through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@stlouispark) and GovDelivery.
