The St. Louis Park City Council has issued a proclamation recognizing May as Mental Health Awareness Month. To further show the city’s support and recognition of the month, the Highway 7 and Louisiana Avenue bridge will be lit green on May 1. The color green has been an identifying symbol of mental health awareness.

One in five Americans will experience a mental health condition each year, and 50% of Americans will experience a mental health condition in their lifetime. More people than ever before are struggling with their mental health, and the city can help by joining the effort to raise mental health awareness and work to reduce stigma during Mental Health Awareness Month.
