St. Louis Park residents who own a Kia or Hyundai vehicle are invited to pick up a free steering wheel lock from the St. Louis Park Police Department June 7. Kia and Hyundai owners are being provided with these free locks due to the high rate of theft of these vehicles.

Giveaway will take place Wednesday, June 7, from 3 – 5 p.m. at the St. Louis Park Police Department parking lot, 3015 Raleigh Ave. S., St. Louis Park. A booth will be set up outside to allow vehicle owners to drive up and receive a lock.

To receive a free steering wheel lock at the event:

• Present a driver’s license or Minnesota ID showing you are a resident of St. Louis Park
• Present proof of ownership of a Kia or Hyundai vehicle(s). Proof of ownership could include arriving in a Kia or Hyundai vehicle or showing a current insurance card with the vehicle make and model listed.

Limit of two locks per household. Supplies are limited. Notice will be posted on the St. Louis Park Police Department Twitter and Facebook accounts (@slppolice) when the giveaway ends.
