Louisiana Avenue, between 400 feet north of Oxford Street and Excelsior Boulevard, is scheduled for reconstruction during the 2019 construction season.
The project also includes the replacement of the bridge over Minnehaha Creek, road reconstruction, traffic signals, bikeway facilities and sidewalk. The city’s consultant, Kimley-Horn, is currently working on the analysis of existing and future bicycle, pedestrian and vehicle traffic to inform decisions on how this segment of Louisiana Avenue is rebuilt.
A public meeting about the Louisiana Avenue Reconstruction Project is scheduled for Wednesday, October 4 from 4 - 6:30 p.m. at the Municipal Service Center, Multi-Purpose Room. At this meeting, you’ll learn more about the proposed project, including information about the overall street reconstruction; review preliminary options for the corridor; and be able to provide feedback to city staff on the project and the design options.
Throughout the public participation process, city staff is committed to keeping you informed, listening to and acknowledging your concerns, and providing feedback on how public input influenced final plans.
If you have any questions, or are unable to attend the meeting and would like to make arrangements to discuss this project at another time, please contact Joe Shamla at 952.924.2552 or jshamla@stlouispark.org. Also, if you would like to track project progress, please sign up for email updates by visiting the project page on the city's website.
We look forward to working with you!
