Every five years, the city requests proposals for solid waste collection services for residences and small businesses who receive city service. The decision to change haulers was made after discussions with city council, surveying residents and requesting proposals from 14 hauling companies.

Starting Oct. 1, 2023, the following companies will be providing service to residents with city solid waste services:

• Garbage and recycling services – Buckingham Companies
• Organics service – Republic Services
• Yard waste service – Waste Container Systems

Most of the city’s residential solid waste services will stay the same. Watch for additional information, including customer service and contact information, to be sent by mail in September.
