Five grants were awarded for 2024 as part of the City of St. Louis Park Arts & Culture Grant program. The program funds art projects and cultural activities that build bridges between artists and communities, engage people in creative learning and promote cultural health, well-being and cultural experiences in St. Louis Park. Nine applications were received during the 2024 grant process. The review committee chose five projects that best met the grant program criteria:
- Aquila Elementary Parent Teacher Organization: outdoor mural at Aquila Elementary School ($3,300)
- Community Storytelling Forum: community storyteller events throughout the year ($500)
- Overdressed Duo: three free public opera performances in the park ($3,700)
- Thai Cultural Council of MN/Wat Promwachirayan: Southeast Asian performances during the Minnesota Thai Festival 2024 ($7,500)
- WOW Mobile Metal Lab: public workshops to create sculptures ($5,000)
Funding for the program is provided through the City of St. Louis Park Development Fund, with $20,000 budgeted for art projects in 2024. Visit the Arts & Culture Grant page for more information.
