On July 14, 2025, at 3:27 a.m., St. Louis Park police officers were dispatched to an in-progress theft from a vehicle in the 3700 block of Colorado Avenue. The owner of the vehicle confronted the suspects and was pushed to the ground, receiving minor injuries that did not require immediate medical attention. At least two suspects then fled in a stolen vehicle. In addition to this report, officers recovered a stolen bicycle that one of the suspects had used. The bicycle had been taken from a garage in this same area.
Residents in the area are asked to check their surveillance cameras and report any footage showing the suspects, who were described as wearing all black and one subject was described as wearing an orange sweatshirt or orange hat. Both suspects were described as Black males with at least one wearing a mask. The suspects fled in a black Hyundai Elantra with MN license plate LYF857, a vehicle that had been stolen in Bloomington on July 13, 2025.
We suggest that residents remove all valuables from their vehicles and do not leave garage door openers in vehicles that are parked outside overnight. Residents who need to file a new theft report should call 952.924.2618.
