The residential brush drop-off program recently ended its sixth season, and has proven to be a tremendous asset for the city and its residents. Since the program began, the city has collected roughly 37,815 cubic yards of materials. The estimated volumes taken to the site from residents include:
- 2017 - 4399 cubic yards
- 2016 - 6559 cubic yards
- 2015 - 7383 cubic yards
- 2014 - 8060 cubic yards
- 2013 - 10,394 cubic yards
- 2012 - 1020 cubic yards
Over the years this program has facilitated larger branch removal from yards, assisted residents with storm clean-ups, promoted the removal of buckthorn on private properties and lessened the amount of illegal dumping of woody vegetation that occurs on city properties. The site also serves as a wood mulch, compost and screened soil repository where residents can pick up these materials at no cost. Additionally, it is a depository for a portion of the city’s curb-side yard waste program.
The site is now closed for the season, but will re-open April 28, 2018. Check out the brush-drop off page for additional information and updates.
