From Jan. 26 at 8 a.m. through Jan. 28 at 4:30 p.m., the City of St. Louis Park’s Housing Authority will accept online applications for its newest rental assistance housing program, Bring It Home. Visit the Housing Authority's website for applications.
“We are hopeful that this new program will help create stability for St. Louis Park families who are currently paying more than 30% of their income toward rent,” said City of St. Louis Park Housing Assistance Administrator Nicole Randall. “Participating in this program aligns with our city’s strategic priority of providing a broad range of housing and neighborhood-oriented development.”
Opening the waiting list is the first step in assigning the 52 vouchers the St. Louis Park Housing Authority received, which must be used at rental properties in St. Louis Park. Applicants must meet income and eligibility requirements. Only online applications will be accepted; no in-person applications are available.
“To help make this program work, the city is fortunate to have many rental property owners who welcome the opportunity to expand housing options for cost-burdened households,” Randall said. “Every year, those rental property owners renew their licensing with the city through rigorous training and inspections, helping to ensure the city’s rental housing is safe and secure for all residents.”
This program is offered in addition to the city’s many existing rental assistance programs. Visit the rental assistance page to learn more.
Funding for this program in St. Louis Park is provided through the State of Minnesota. The program is specifically designed to assist cost-burdened households at 50% area median income (AMI) or less, with priority given to households earning under 30% AMI, that include children. Visit the Minnesota Housing page for more information about the state program.
