On March 30, 2026, at 11:57 p.m., St. Louis Park Police and Fire responded to multiple reports of a vehicle fire near Old Cedar Lake Road and Quentin Avenue South, just east of Highway 100. Upon arrival, a sedan was found overturned on its roof and fully engulfed in flames, with debris scattered. Witnesses reported the vehicle had rolled over and that no one was seen exiting it after the crash. Due to intense flames and smoke, initially arriving officers could not safely approach the vehicle to determine if there were any occupants inside. Thermal imaging was used by police and fire to search the immediate area for any potential ejected occupants, but none were found.
Tire marks from the crash scene and debris indicated the vehicle failed to navigate a curve at high speed, left the roadway, struck trees in the northwest corner of the intersection, ignited, and rolled upon reentering the pavement. Video later confirmed this sequence. After the fire was extinguished, firefighters located a deceased individual inside the vehicle. This case is an active investigation of the St. Louis Park Police Department in coordination with the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Crime Lab and the medical examiner’s office. Anyone with information related to this investigation is asked to contact the St. Louis Park Police Department at 952.924.2600.
