The Human Right Award is facilitated by the St. Louis Park Human Rights Commission. The award recognizes individuals, groups, organizations or businesses that have made an outstanding contribution toward increasing understanding and cooperation between people of different backgrounds in St. Louis Park.

How to apply

If you are interested in nominating an individual, group, organization or business, complete the Human Rights Award nomination form. 

Nominations/applications for the 2025 Human Rights Award will be accepted between Jan. 5 – Feb. 28, 2026.

After the human rights commission selects a recipient, the award will be presented at a city council meeting in March 2026.

• 2021 – in the business/organization category, Craft & Crew Hospitality Inc.; in the individual category, Cory Litzow Lorentz, a multilingual learners teacher at St. Louis Park High School

The human rights commission developed the diversity lens and the accompanying diversity lens brochure. Valuing individual diversity means reaching beyond stereotypical views of individuals and using the strengths and different perspectives that each person offers. The diversity lens is not just a reflection of you or me, but the collective us in our community and all of our values.
