Daniel Bashore began serving as the ward 1 city council member in 2026, following his election in 2025. Bashore moved to Minnesota in 2019 and has called St. Louis Park home since 2021.
Since moving to St. Louis Park, Bashore has been deeply engaged in his neighborhood and community, helping to restart the Bronx Park Neighborhood Association and serving on the St. Louis Park Human Rights Commission.
Professionally, Daniel is a change management consultant, helping clients focus on the people side of organizational change during times of major transformation. He also serves as the national chair of his employer’s LGBTQ+ resource group. Daniel holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and a Ph.D. in industrial/organizational psychology from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.
In addition to his civic and professional roles, Bashore coaches group fitness classes at The Power House in St. Louis Park and performs on various stages in the Twin Cities community theater scene. He lives in the Bronx Park Neighborhood with his husband, Kevin, and their beloved rescue pets Joel and Marty. In his free time, Bashore enjoys visiting new travel destinations with Kevin and taking Marty on walks around the neighborhood.
