Below are the contest guidelines:

• Nominator must be a St. Louis Park resident.
• Nominated trees must be located in St. Louis Park.
• Trees should be easily visible from the street or from public areas, such as city boulevards, parks or residential front yards.
• If you are nominating a tree that is not on your property, the city can send a letter notifying the owner of the tree and give them an opportunity to confirm or withdraw the nomination.
• Trees can be any size, color or species.
• By submitting an entry, you agree to allow the City of St. Louis Park to use your submitted entry in a public and official capacity.
• Name(s) of the winning nominator and tree will be shared in a news release, on the city’s website and through GovDelivery emails, social media and other communications channels.

Submissions closed July 31. 

Below is the timeline for the contest: 

• June 2 – Thursday, July 31: M.V.Tree submissions are accepted.
• Aug. 4 – 15: City staff and environment and sustainability commission members will narrow down submissions to a group of finalists. This review committee will consider many factors, including the nominator’s story and the aesthetics of the tree.
• Aug. 18: M.V.Tree finalists are announced through city website, a GovDelivery email notification and social media channels.
• Aug. 18 – 29: Public voting takes place.
• Early September: The M.V. Tree will be revealed on the city website, GovDelivery email notification and social media. It will also be recognized at a city council meeting!
