Westwood Hills Nature Center is only as successful as its many wonderful volunteers. Volunteer opportunities include junior naturalist, administrative support, educational programming, animal and raptor care, special events, planting trees, habitat restoration, general maintenance and much more.

Junior naturalist

Are you ready to volunteer and have some fun? Do you enjoy helping kids with activities, caring for animals or helping with projects? If so, consider joining our popular Westwood Hills Nature Center Junior Naturalist program! This program is for youth grades 7 and above during the 2025 – 2026 school year.

In a cooperative, goal-oriented, fun, work environment, youth gain experience working with children in camps, caring for animals and maintaining the nature center's water garden. They also learn important job skills, engage in community service, work as a team and learn leadership skills.

Registration for new junior naturalists will open April 1.

Visit the Junior naturalist registration page for details and registration!
