Ȟaȟá Wakpádaŋ Water Blessing

Next date: Monday, October 12, 2026 | 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM

Join us in honoring Ȟaȟá Wakpádaŋ (Bassett Creek) through a water blessing and educational activities. We'll also celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day through song and land acknowledgment. Indigenous participants will share ways to care for the lands and waters of Mni Sóta Makoce (Minnesota). This is a free, family-friendly, accessible event.

The event will be held rain or shine. Attendees may bring chairs, blankets and water bottles.

Whópida thaŋka (thank you) to cultural advisors Bradley Blackhawk (Ho-Chunk), Darlene St. Clair (Dakota), Jim Rock (Dakota) and Roxanne Gould (Anishinaabe).
