Film and Photography Permits

Film and photography permits are required for professional or organized filming and photography on both public and private property. Permits help ensure that filming activities are conducted safely, responsibly and in compliance with applicable regulations, property requirements and community standards.

Whether filming in public spaces, parks, streets or on privately owned property, applicants are responsible for obtaining the necessary permissions and approvals before beginning their activities. Additional authorization from private property owners may be required.

Filming and photography in city-owned parks

Outdoor photography/filming permits are required for those looking to capture video or have a photoshoot for individual or commercial use in one of the city parks. The permit helps city staff manage activity in the park, protect the park resources, minimize conflict between user groups and ensure public safety.

If you are looking to do a photoshoot or capture video at one of the city’s parks, complete the outdoor photography permit application. Applications must be submitted and approved 14 days before the photoshoot.
