On Jan. 19, 2026, at 5:59 p.m. St. Louis Park police officers were called to the 1300 block of Hampshire Avenue South in St. Louis Park on a reported burglary in progress, with the reporting party stating he saw people in his apartment. Upon further investigation it was believed the suspects had returned to a nearby apartment. Responding officers surrounded that apartment while they obtained a search warrant. Occupants began to leave and were detained until the search warrant was signed. Eight suspects were detained, including adults and teenagers. Two minor-age children were present. A large police presence was required to safely detain the large number of people involved and to clear the apartment. No one was injured during the incident. This remains an active and ongoing investigation of the St. Louis Park Police Department.
